Mercedes-Benz recommends brake pads be replaced every 50,000 miles. But that number may be sooner or later depending on braking habits and driving conditions.
The friction caused by braking causes fine shavings from the brake pads to come off. The more frequently or more aggressively you apply the brakes, the sooner they may need replacing. For example; gently coasting to a stop reduces brake wear. But frequent city miles can cause them to wear out faster, as there will be more stop and go traffic.
